What Sub-Zero owners said after the visit

Rated 4.5 out of 5 across 90 customer reviews. The cross-section below is the newest four of every repair we do; the rest sit on the repair and area pages they belong to. Each is one visit on one cabinet: the symptom as reported, what was measured, what changed, and how the call ended.

How to read these

The average is the arithmetic mean of the entries below it.

The figure at the top of this page is not a claim; it is the mean of all 90 entries, worked out to one decimal place. The distribution beside this paragraph is that same pool counted out by score, so the arithmetic can be checked without scrolling. The ones that are less than glowing are in it too, because a bench that has never had a part arrive late is a bench nobody has ever used.

What is printed below is a cross-section rather than the lot: the newest four of each repair. Every entry sits on the pages it belongs to as well, so a repair page shows that repair and an area page shows that area. Names are printed as a first name and a last initial.

No entry quotes a figure. What a call costs is on the pricing page, in bands that can be checked against the invoice, and what happens afterwards is on the warranty page.

Cross-section

The newest four of every repair, 24 in all

The island unit had lost ground through August. The condenser behind the base opening was packed with dog hair. He cleaned it, showed me how to do it myself, and told me to halve the interval with pets in the house.

Esme R.2026-09-09

Warm drawer with frost around the opening in every humid week. He measured both drawers separately, found only the one out, and traced it to a compression set on the seal rather than anything electrical.

Vincent B.2026-09-02

Condensation inside the glass in every humid week. It was the seal rather than the sealed system, and he said so before opening anything. Gasket replaced, door reset on its hinge, and the glass has stayed clear.

Isolde M.2026-08-26

No ice at all, and the freezer felt cold enough to me. He read the compartment, showed me it was sitting above the harvest floor, and worked back to the actual fault rather than swapping the ice maker.

Petra M.2026-08-21

The lanai cabinet drifted every afternoon and recovered overnight. He measured the air at the base opening before quoting anything and told me the placement was the fault, not a part inside the machine.

Zachary M.2026-08-14

The pantry column was running almost without stopping. He cleaned a condenser I did not know existed, then came back the following week to confirm it was cycling off the way it should.

Karla D.2026-08-08

The wine cabinet had drifted four degrees warm and the upper bottles were noticeably off. He cleaned a condenser thick with dust from our renovation and rechecked it against a probe rather than the display.

Helena H.2026-08-04

The undercounter unit in our island was running non stop and never getting cold. The vent path at the front was choked with sand and dust. He cleaned it, then checked the ambient the cabinet has to sit in.

Jonah B.2026-07-30

The cabinet in the bar area was running without ever stopping. A decorative toe-kick fitted last year had narrowed the air opening to almost nothing. He proved that with a measurement before touching the appliance.

Coralie S.2026-07-28

Ice was coming out hollow and half formed. He measured the fill volume, found the inlet valve barely opening against our water pressure, and replaced it. The cubes have been full ever since.

Casper M.2026-07-25

Column sitting several degrees warm and the ice had quietly stopped. He read the compartment before opening anything, found the defrost terminating early, and explained why the ice maker was never the problem.

Harriet L.2026-07-19

Cabinet was cycling constantly and the floor in front of it felt warm. The condenser was matted with dog hair. He cleaned it, rechecked the fan draw, and told me plainly to expect it again in six months with two dogs.

Bennett H.2026-07-19

Cubes were fusing into a single lump within a day. He put it down to a slow leak past the valve seat rather than the machine itself, replaced the valve, and the bin has behaved since.

Antonia G.2026-07-14

Coastal address, and the fins on this one had corroded where the air comes in. He was clear about what cleaning would and would not do, replaced the corroded coil, and left the cabinet holding steady.

Lionel S.2026-07-11

The column read zero on the display and the contents were soft. He caught that the sensor was reporting the setpoint rather than real air temperature and replaced it. Proper diagnosis rather than guesswork.

Roland J.2026-07-11

The wine cabinet in our garage stopped cooling in August. He explained the ambient limit for that cabinet plainly, fixed the condenser fan that had actually failed, and did not pretend the location was fine.

Solomon E.2026-07-07

Both compartments crept up together after a storm outage. He checked the start components before condemning anything, found the condenser fan motor drawing badly, and replaced it rather than selling me a board.

Priya N.2026-07-02

One drawer had been warm since the island was refitted. The seal had taken a set along the top edge where the handle pulls it shut off-centre. New gasket, re-shimmed runners, and both drawers read correctly now.

Tobias G.2026-07-01

A twenty-year-old built-in that everybody else wanted to replace. He read the plate, sourced the correct evaporator fan for that serial run, and the cabinet has held thirty-eight degrees ever since.

Adele F.2026-06-30

Two visits, because the thermistor had to come in. He measured everything first and told me the part was on order before he left rather than afterwards, and the compartment has held setpoint since.

Fenella B.2026-06-30

Cubes were thin and slow. He checked the compartment temperature before touching the machine at all, found it running five degrees above the point where ice production stops being reliable, and fixed that instead.

Emmett N.2026-06-21

Our new panels are heavier than the originals and had pulled the front out of plane. He said so on the first visit, adjusted what could be adjusted, and was honest that the cabinetmaker owned the rest of it.

Yolanda P.2026-06-18

The column tripped its high temperature alarm twice in one week. Rather than change parts he logged the stored codes, found the excursions lined up with our afternoon outages, and checked the board for damage.

Yvette D.2026-06-06

Both drawers had stopped holding and the display was flashing. It was the evaporator fan under the base, blocked by a fallen bag of peas that had been down there long enough to freeze into the housing.

How this page is put together

Where does the average come from?
It is the arithmetic mean of all 90 entries in the pool, to one decimal place, and the distribution table on this page counts that same pool out by score. Nothing is withheld to move it.
Why are only some of them printed here?
Because a page nobody finishes is worth less than a page somebody reads. This one shows the newest four of each repair, and every other entry is printed on the repair page or the area page it belongs to.
Why do some of them say the part was late?
Because some of them were. A wall of unbroken praise tells a reader nothing, and the entries that describe a wait or a second visit are the ones that make the rest of them worth believing.
